Mr. W. J. (Skip) Johnson was born on January 20, 1947 to the late Samuel and Thelma Johnson in Maplesville, Alabama.
He attended and graduated from Chilton County Training Center and later served his country honorably during the Vietnam war.
In the year of 1977 he met Altha Harvell and her four children Armijean, Earl, Shirley and Kirk. He immediately fell in love and they became his family and he fathered them as his own, providing love, structure, guidance and instruction. later came two beautiful grandchildren Tonya and Charnita the sparkle in his eyes.
He was a loving partner and devoted father, a faithful brother and most caring uncle and friend. He was loved and respected not only by his family but also by many friends
On Sunday April 23, 2023 at 8:06 pm with his loving family at his side, God silently led him to his heavenly home.
He leaves to cherish his memories; A devoted life friend of forty six years Altha Harvell, one step daughter Armijean Peoples , two step sons Earl (Nancy) Harvell and Kirk Harvell all of Planterville Alabama, grandchildren Tonya (Rick) Bryant of Atlanta Georgia, Charnita (Marcus) Lanier of McCalla Alabama, one brother Rudolph Johnson (Gladys) of Maplesville Alabama, one sister Willow Dean McCary and sister-in-law Bernice Johnson both of Fort Wayne Indiana; nine grandchildren, twelve great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and close friends.
He was preceded in death by his father, Samuel Johnson, mother Thelma Johnson, step daughter Shirley Harvell, three brothers Ira Johnson, Dolan Johnson James C. Johnson, three sisters Versa Jordan, Shirley Jones and Annie Lee Bell.
