Thelma Love

Thelma Love passed away on Friday, August 8, 2025.

Thelma was born on February 19, 1934 in Autauga County, Alabama to the late Emma Langford Cottrell and the late Willie Oneal Cottrell

In 1953, she made the journey from Clanton, Alabama to Brooklyn, NY.

After beginning her career with the City of New York, she advanced to the role of Custodial Supervisor and retired from that position in 2000.

She enjoyed sewing, cooking and baking cakes and pies for her family and friends.

Her life was blessed with the fortune of extensive travel, creating countless cherished memories.

Thelma's generous spirit and unwavering kindness ill forever remain in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.

Thelma is survived by her sister: Louise Cottrell Boney, a nephew whom she considered her son: Reginald Cottrell, godson: Kevin Austin, goddaughter. Barbara Chester. A host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, three sisters, and three brothers.
