Samuel Earl Allison

Samuel Earl Allison was born on January 8, 1954 to the late Daniel and Geneva Allison. He confessed his life to Christ at an early age and joined Holly Grove Baptist Church in Jemison, Alabama. He was so involved in his gospel he joined a band as a guitarist in the Wandering Clouds in his early 20’s.

In 1980, he married his best friend, Minnie Lee Woods (Allison), and to their union one child was born, Scottie Levette Allison. Sam also raised two additional children, Zenobia Dickerson (Hood) and John Le’Vic Dickerson as his own. He enjoyed family events, being outdoors, and taking care of others.

Samuel Allison (Sam) was a dedicated husband and God’s greatest father, known to his grandchildren as Papa Sam he unselfishly gave his heart and soul to his family. He was a hard-working man who dedicated 39 years to Unique Industries, Inc. They, too, became his family that he took care of and looked after all his years. 

Samuel Allison was called home on Monday, April 10, 2023. He was preceded in death by his parents, Daniel and Geneva Allison, and his sister, Ethel Allison (Smith).

He leaves to cherish his memories: a loving and dedicated wife of 42 years, Minnie Allison; three devoted children, Scottie Levett Allison, Zenobia (Maurice) Hood, John Le’Vic (Christa) Dickerson; six grandchildren; one great grandchild; two sisters, Juanita Bryant and Sara Allen; two brothers, Reverend James (Frances) Allison, and Emmett Allison; a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends. A special thank you to his niece, Carol Nunn and nephew, Kevin Bryant for their loving and unwavering support during his time of need.
