SADIE M. (TAYLOR) TYUS was born to the late Willie Taylor and Rosie L. Taylor on July 23, 1949. At an early age, she joined Shady Grove Baptist Church, Verbena, Alabama. She worked at Resurrection Catholic Nursing Home as a CNA for many years, to later become administrator before retirement.
She was a faithful member of the African Methodist Episcopal Church (A.M.E.) She was a member of United A.M.E. Church, Verbena, Alabama. She was a member of the Women’s Missionary Society, former WMS President, stewardess, member of the MSWAWO (Minister’s Spouses, Widows, and Widowers Organization). She also has served as a musician for three churches.
Sadie M. (Taylor) Tyus was joined in Holy Matrimony to Reverend Marcellus Tyus on July 17, 1967. To this union were born two children, Valerie D. Tyus and DeCarlos M. Tyus.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Rosie L. Taylor; father, Willie Taylor; husband, Reverend Marcellus Tyus; daughter, Valerie D. Tyus; brothers, Paul Deramus, Willie Fred (Buck) Deramus, Lonnie Jr. Deramus, James Deramus, and Charles Taylor; and sisters, Ruth Vandiver, Nettie A. DeJarnett, Estelle Watkins, and Dorothy Scott.
She leaves to cherish: a loving son, DeCarlos M. Tyus (Tammy, Girlfriend); three grandchildren, Keyuadia S. Tyus, Anjerria S. Tyus, and Stephen B. Wright (Alexis); one special grandchild, Deshaun Caffes; seven grandchildren, Kaysen M. Tyus, Josiah Anderson, Kylie Splunge, Kaycie Splunge, Kassidy Splunge, Shia Wright, and Snow Wright; four brothers, Willie Taylor (Diane), Robert Mottsy, Willie Taylor, and James Payne; one sister, Carolyn Miller; special goddaughter, Vivian Fortson (Jeff); and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
