Mrs. Ronique Chaney Garrett, daughter of the late Robert Sr., and Warrene Wilson Chaney, was born October 11, 1967,
in Clanton, Alabama. She transitioned to her heavenly home on April 13, 2024.
Ronique accepted Christ at an early age and joined the Pilgrim Rest Baptist Church under the leadership of Pastor B.W. Dawson.
She was always very selective choosing friends, however, she had a heart of gold.
Ronique graduated from Isabella High School in 1985. After graduation, she enlisted in the military in 1992 and served for 10
years. Her ETS date was 2003 as SSG. After leaving the military, she obtained a master’s degree in information technology from
the University of Phoenix as a certified information systems security professional (CISSP). Ronique worked for the Department of
Defense as an instructor for ten years at the Cyber Center of Excellence at Fort Gordon, Georgia.
Ronique excelled in many areas (secretly) during her life. She maxed the Armed Services Vocational Aptitude Battery (ASVAB)
test, the only elementary student bold enough to play in the band at Sefridge Air National Guard Base, won first place in business
competition, at Wallace College in Selma. Ronique was a blessing to those whose lives she touched and will be missed.
She was preceded in death by her father, Robert Sr.; Ted’s father, Sam Sr.
Those who will cherish her memories are: her loving husband, Teddy Garrett of Augusta, GA; mother, Warrene Chaney; Ted’s
