Reverend Roberta S. Washington Jenkins was born on August 28, 1954, to the late Eddie O’neal Stoudemire and the late Doris LeeAnna Jones (Stoudemire) Wright. To this union, eight children were born; besides Reverend Jenkins, there were Gladys Price of Prattville, AL, Eddie Stoudemire (preceded in death), Jessie Stoudemire (preceded in death), Julia (Joseph) Ware (preceded in death), Rev. Arlene (Rev. Frank) DeJarnette of Prattville, AL, Evelyn Pitner of Prattville, AL, and Jeffrey (Marie) Stoudemire of Clanton, AL.
Rev. Jenkins loved the Lord. She knew at the age of six that she was called to preach the word of God, and 23 years later, she accepted her calling. She was a member of Rock of Faith Christian Church, Thorsby, AL, with Pastor Harry Jones.
She leaves behind, sorrowfully, her husband, Willie Joe Jenkins, Jr., and her six children: DeShaun Graham of Montgomery, AL, Nakia DeJarnette of Prattville, AL, Carlos Washington of Clanton, AL, Victoria Washington of Valley Grande, AL, Grace (Rev. Morris) Fletcher of Selma, AL, and Donna (Maurice) Bush of Wilsonville, AL.
She leaves behind 13 grandchildren: Aaliyah and Joshua (Deshaun), Brittany and Jeremiah (Carlos), JaMya and Jaiden (Victoria), Kimora, Grayson, London, and Morgan (Grace), and Malachi, MaNiyah, and Marshall (Donna). She also leaves seven great-grandchildren behind: Quintavious, Quantae’, Qua’Mori, Brenton, Bryson, Moses, and Isaiah. She also leaves to mourn, her nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.
