Baby Nell S. Dennis was born on March 18, 1941, to the late Huey and Margaret Lollar in Columbiana, Alabama.
She confessed to Christ at First Baptist Church in Wilsonville, Alabama.
She transitioned from this world on July 20, 2023, at her home.
She got her nickname “Momma Nell” because she fed and took in everyone in the neighborhood, so in essence, she was a momma to a lot of people who became family.
She had three siblings who preceded her in death, Mack Lollar, Cornelius Griffin, and Mary Carter. She had eight children, six boys and two girls. One child preceded her in death, Carl E. Simon.
She leaves to cherish her memory: her seven children, five sons, Roger Simon, Douglas Simon of Jemison, AL, Arthur (Sonya) Simon of Huntsville, AL, Lee Patrick Sails, Tommy Lee Dennis, Jr., both of Clanton, AL, and two daughters, Anita Simon of Jemison, AL, and Carline (Edward) Benson of Clanton, AL; two siblings, Mark Lollar and Jeannette Goodman, both of Columbiana, AL; two close family friends, Edward Bourne of Huntsville, AL, and Reggie Cottrell of Atlanta, GA; twenty-four grandchildren, forty- eight great-grandchildren, and two great-great grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends.
