Mary (Talley) Shelton

Mary Elizabeth Talley Shelton was born June 13, 1947, in Chilton County, Alabama.

She departed her life on Thursday, October 26, 2023. She confessed Christ at an early age at New Convert Baptist Church in Mapleville, AL. She was also faithful and dedicated member and event coordinator of Pilgrim Rest Baptist Church.

She graduated from trade school in Chilton County. She furthered her education at Massey Draughton Business College in Mont, AL. Her career path consisted of working for Camp Town in Clanton, AL, Russell’s Golf Service Gas Station, New Caroline Mutual Insurance Agency and as a School Bus Driver for ten years and Secretary for Patterson Elementary, all in Montgomery, AL. Then, she later retired from Jeff Davis High School as the secretary and Lowe’s in Prattville, AL, as the Team Leader.

She leaves to cherish fond memories: her son, Kenneth Shelton; two grandchildren, LaQuasha Ponder and Jana Brooks; adopted grand-daughter and son, Dawn Roberts and Raymond Rivers; one great-grandchild, Jabria Brooks; and a host of sisters, brothers, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
