Linda Jean Walker was born to the late Coylene and Robert Reed on April 14, 1954.
She made her transition to eternal life on November 5, 2023. She was preceded in death by her husband, Elga Walker, Jr.; stepson, Reginald Walker; and sister, Mary J. Hooper. “Mama Jean,” as she was known to many, was a loving and caring person.
She served in many different capacities at church. For the past 20 years, she worked as a caregiver until her health failed her.
Jean is survived by her five daughters, Laquasha Hampton (Willie), Coylene Reed, Naketa Reed, Lairbreun Reed, and Lairreun Reed, all of Clanton, AL; one stepdaughter, Rena Meadows (Tony) of Clanton, AL; special niece/daughter, Latrese Alexnader (Tony) of Madison, AL; loving sister, Theresa Reed of Birmingham, AL; beloved brother, Johnny Marvin Reed (Mary) of Columbia, SC; special friend, Ronald Brown of Clanton, AL; 12 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren; a host of bonus children and grandchildren; godparents, Herman and Olivia Washington; and other special relatives and friends.
