Leslie Earl was born on October 8, 1946 to the late Henry H. and Ella Ree Speigner Childers in Titus, AL. The eighth child of eleven siblings, he was preceded in death by six, Catherine, Cozell, Cleavell, Jessie, James, and William “Red.”
Earl was educated in the Chilton County school system. He loved getting together with his cousins, brothers, and friends, playing golf, bowling, and shooting pool. He was always laughing and joking around. A self-taught barber, he enjoyed cutting hair.
He met a young lady from Campbell Settlement, Jemison, AL, Brenda Faye Nunn, and they were married and blessed with two children.
Earl transitioned from this life on Sunday morning, August 1, at home.
His memories will forever live on in the hearts of those who loved him: his daughter, Renee (Sadaka) Davis; son, Rodriqus; three grandchildren, Rakiya and Rashad Childers and Laron Turner; three sisters, Dean, Bernethia, and Jeanette; one brother, Larry (Debra); and many nephews, nieces, cousins, friends, and associates throughout Chilton County and the surrounding counties.
