LARRY WILSON was born on September 5, 1950, in Maplesville, Alabama (New Convert Community), to the late Otis Wilson and Arthur Mae Davis-Wilson. To this union five boys were born.
He confessed Christ at an early age and joined New Convert Baptist Church. He started his high school education at Chilton County Training School but due to the integration of schools he graduated from Isabella High School.
Larry was also known to some as “Lu and Bud.” Larry enjoyed going fishing with his church family in Georgia, Pilgrim Missionary Baptist Church. He was an active servant as a Trustee and Usher at church. Larry worked at Ford Motor Company for 10 years and after became an over the road Truck driver for 30+ years. He LOVED watching TV, some of his favorites were Gun Smoke, Smokey and the Bandit, The Swamp People, Madea, and Two Broke Girls.
Larry was preceded in death by his parents, Otis Wilson and Arthur Mae Davis Wilson.
He peacefully departed this life for a new one on Friday, August 15, 2025, at 10:30 AM at his daughter’s home, Tawasha Wilson, in Douglasville, Georgia.
He leaves to cherish his memories: daughter, Tawasha Wilson of Georgia; son, Alkawan Wilson of Georgia; granddaughter, Kennedi Williams of Georgia; four brothers, Lewis Wilson (Bernetta) of California, Levoy Wilson of Alabama, Ricky Wilson of Alabama, and Mark Wilson (Carolyn) of Georgia; two aunts, Johnnie Mae Davis Alyer of New Jersey and Mary Pearl Davis Roberson of Alabama; niece, Atoya Price; nephew, Rodrick Williams of Alabama; and a host of cousins and friends.
