LJ SMITH, 51, of Jemison, Alabama passed away February 7, 2023, at UAB Hospital. He was born March 20, 1971, in Alabaster, Alabama, son of Annie Merle Smith and Joseph Sims.

He was preceded in death by his stepfather, Lester Smith; grandparents, Earnest and Lottie Mae Smith; wife, Jackie Trone Smith; and a host of aunts and uncles.

Surviving him are: mother, Annie Merle Smith; wife, Debra Smith; stepdaughters, Lateria Smith and Jacelyn Brown; stepson, Stanley Brown; sisters, Dorothy (Emanuel) Smith Anderson, Dottie Smith, and Daphne (Rontae) Smith Williams; and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews.
