Joyce Talley Parker was born June 9, 1958, in Plantersville and passed away on Tuesday, December 5, 2023, in Alabaster, AL.
She graduated from Isabella HS in 1976 and later married Fred Douglas Parker and moved to Clanton, AL. She liked traveling, enjoying life, and being with her family. She was a good cook, and she always loved to dress up and look her best. She gave her life to Christ at an early age at the New Convert Baptist Church. Joyce was preceded in death by her mother, Annie B. Laister-Talley and Johnny B. Talley; maternal grandparents, Nancy Lowery Laister and Johnnie Laister; sister, Jennifer F. Talley; brother, Johnny B. Talley; and paternal grandparents, Eula Peoples Talley and Marshall Talley.
She is survived by her daughter, Lashundra Parker of College Park, GA; son, Jabrail Malik Spence of Calera, AL; siblings, Nancy Green of Montevallo, AL, Barbara Edmondson of Mount Vernon, WA, Marvin Talley (Carolyn) of Douglasville, GA, Curtis L. Talley (Kim) of Madison, AL, Mary L. Talley (Thad) of Calera, AL, David E. Talley (Tara) of Chelsea, AL, Jon B. Johnson of Clanton, AL, Eric B. Talley (Melvena) of McDonough, GA, Melinda F. Giles (Trina) of Bristow, VA, Merrick Talley and Monica Wilson of Alpharetta, GA, Sheland Wilson of Maplesville, AL,; aunts, Roberta Parker (Lenzie) of Brooklyn, New York, Rutha L. Holiness of Selma, AL, Addie Mae Laister-Crum of Maplesville, AL, and Judy Laister of Texas; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and her “devoted niece,” Skilar S. Talley of Pelham, AL; and a host of other relatives and friends.
