Joyce M (Wilson) Brooks

Mrs. Joyce Brooks, daughter of Samuel Matthew and Marvarene (Davis) Wilson, was born April 19, 1947, in Maplesville, Alabama.

She was affectionately known as “Ludie.” Joyce accetped the Lord Jesus Christ as savior and joined New Convert Baptist Church at an early age.

She attended New Convert Junior High, Maplesville, Alabama, and graduated from Chilton County Training School, Clanton, Alabama. After graduating high school she moved to Elizabeth, New Jersey. There she met her loving and devoted husband, Lewis Brooks. Joyce worked in the electronics industry for many years. After retirement, Joyce and Lewis moved back to the New Convert community. She resided here until the Lord called her home.

Joyce was preceded in death by her father and mother, Samuel Matthew Wilson and Marvarene Wilson; son, Anthony; and siblings, Mack, Morris, Lillie, Petunia, Evelyn, and Marvin.

Joyce leaves to cherish her precious memories: a devoted husband, Lewis Brooks (56 years); devoted son and daughter-in-law, Kennard (Rosa) of East Stroudsburg, PA; bonus daughter, Sanjanette of Marietta, GA; two precious grandchildren, Kenndra (Carl) and Kennard Jr. (Sarah); three precious great-grandchildren, Leia Rose, Kali Rae, and Stella Jane, all of East Stroudsburg, PA; stepdaughter, Jameka; step-granddaughter, Shemeka of Atlanta, GA; brothers, Samuel (Linda) Wilson of Plainfield, NJ, Hosea Wilson of Elizabethtown, KY, and Marion Wilson of Montevallo, AL; one sister, Warrene Chaney of Maplesville, AL; sisters-in-law, Rosie, Mary, Maggie, Sarah, Shirley Pearl, Catherine, and Arsula; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends whom she loved dearly.
