Josephine (Robinson) McDaniel

Josie Lee was born on November 5, 1939, to Marion and Velma Robinson. Her parents preceded her in death.

She was married to Aaron Smith, Sr., and she dedicated her life raising their ten children, Janice (Lorenzo) Edwards, Aaron (Betty) Smith, Jr., Arnold (Starla) Smith, Marion a.k.a. “Nita” Smith, Leonard a.k.a. “Ken” (Geri) Smith, Orlando a.k.a. “Nana” (Betty) Smith, LaDonna (Cedric) Sanders, Cleaverson a.k.a. “Reese” Smith, Gerald a.k.a. “Gerry” Smith, and Velma a.k.a. “Deana” Smith.

Aaron preceded her in death in 1974.

She married David McDaniel, and he preceded her in death in 1989.

Josephine was blessed with 19 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren, one sister, nine brothers, and a host of nieces and nephews.

Our mama’s favorite past time was spoiling her “baby,” Nita. She also enjoyed baking, crossword puzzles, and making quilts.

Our mama departed this earth on August 6, 2023.
