John Henry Robinson was born on October 20, 1942, to the late Marion and Velma Robinson. They preceded him in death.
He confessed Christ and joined the Fellowship of the United AME Church of Verbena, Alabama, where he served as an usher and enjoyed it.
He passed away peacefully on Monday, March 3, 2025, at his home.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Marion and Velma Robinson; five brothers, Joe Lewis Townsend, Edward Robinson, Raymond Robinson, Thomas Robinson, and Willie (Bill) Robinson; and two sisters, Peggy Morgan and Josephine McDaniel.
John worked for the Marbury Water Company for many years and retired from there. He was a foster dad to thirty children. John’s favorite pastimes were hunting, grilling, hanging out with family, playing dominoes, and watching Animal Planet and western movies.
He leaves to cherish his memories to his devoted wife of 42 years, Fannie Robinson; two loving daughters, Sondra Ford and Gwen Dickerson of Calera, AL; one stepson, James Talley, Jr.; daughter- in-law, Zenobia Talley; two beautiful, adopted children, Janie and Elijah Robinson of Verbena, AL; seven grandchildren, Tiffany Ford, Skylar Ford, Lacy Price, Jazmin Dickerson, Chris Holifield, Duante Talley, and Zakira Talley; seven great-grandchildren, Neimiah Baker, Genesis Gill, Delilah Gill, Kamren Ford, Kody, Zamariah, and Sophia; four brothers, Anthony Robinson (Robin) of Bessemer, AL, Joseph Robinson (Jessie Lee), Paul Robinson, and Peter Robinson of Verbena, AL; bonus granddaughter, Amiiya Williams of Montgomery, AL; bonus sons whom he helped to raise, Jimbo and Lamale Gibbs; four sisters-in-law, Ruth Pye (Gate) of Birmingham, AL, Joane Wilson (James) of Verbena, AL, Teresa Skinner (Jerome) of Birmingham, AL, and Loretta Holifield (Robert) of Prattville, AL; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
