George Hutcherson was born July 15, 1953, in Cotton Plant, Arkansas, to Sidney Hutcherson and Marie Jackson Hutcherson. George was raised in the Cotton Plant community and accepted Christ at an early age. He attended school in the Cotton Plant school system and received his diploma in 1972.
Entering adulthood, George initially made Chicago, Illinois, his home and lived there many years, later relocating back to Cotton Plant for a time. Soon after, he began work in the construction industry. This profession afforded him the opportunity to live in several states, including Florida, Georgia, Oklahoma, Texas, Missouri, New Jersey, and Alabama. Working with Capstone Construction for many years, he had a hand in several projects, building apartments and university housing. He had a strong work ethic throughout his life and was truly proud of the work he did.
Growing up in a household as the only brother, George was very beloved by his sisters and was greatly cherished by his nieces and nephews. One of George’s great passions was riding motorcycles. In recent years, he had slowed things down and transitioned from his beloved Hayabusa to riding a Harley.
In 2016, George married Joanne Talley and made Maplesville, Alabama, his home. With this union, two families blended to become one.
On August 23, 2023, after a brief illness, George transcended time to enter eternity. He was preceded in death by parents, Sidney and Marie Hutcherson; siblings, Maggie Lee Hutcherson, Sylvester Hutcherson, Sarah Russell, Oretter Holland, Georgana Walker, and Manervia Mosley; and his grandson, Kenyauta Keith.
Precious memories of George remain forever in the hearts of those who loved him: his wife, Joanne Hutcherson of Maplesville, AL; children, Christopher Marks of Atlanta, GA, Michele Keith of Hazel Crest, IL, Kenneth (Saresa) Keith of Cedar Rapids, IA, Ladon (Kelli) Keith of Park Forest, IL, LaKecia (Darin) Cook of Clanton, AL, and Randy Talley of Tuscaloosa, AL; sisters, Laretter Jones and Lucinda (Claude) Marsh, both of Chicago, IL, and Annette McMillion of Conway, AR; twenty grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and a host of loving nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends.
