Ema E. McCall was born on June 2, 1950, to the late Elise and Mae Elisala, Sr., in Pago Pago, American Samora.
Ema later moved to Honolulu, Hawaii. She worked as a licensed practical nurse (LPN) for thirty-four years at Tripter Army Medical Center, where she met Walter McCall, Jr. They united in holy matrimony on June 18, 1977. Later in life, she returned to Clanton, Alabama, with her husband, where she joined Fountain Chapel African Methodist Episcopal.
She ascended to her final resting place on September 21, 2022.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Walter McCall, Jr.; her brothers, Filipo and Joseph Elisala; and her sister, Unai (Edward) Manuma.
She leaves to cherish her memory: her two loving sons, Alex (Miho) McCall of Honolulu, Hawaii, and Chuck Walton of Los Angeles, California; two devoted daughters, Amber (James) Gambrell of Clanton, Alabama, and Kimberly (Wendell) Barfield of Clanton, Alabama; two brothers, Elise (Atwinda) Elisala, Jr., and Robert (Bobbie) Elisala; two sisters-in-law, Jenny Elisala and Lynn Elisala; and one adopted son, Thomas Charles Davis.
She also leaves to cherish her memory: five grandsons, Tayshaun Dawson-Gambrell, Jayden Nash, Marcus Dawson- Gambrell, Steven Gambrell, and James Hudson III; six granddaughters, Kikyo McCall, Kara Gambrell, Keira Nash, Kaede McCall, Alyson Spence, and Jasmine Nash; devoted nieces, Esther Sarusa and Emma Hudson; devoted sisters, Kerina Elisara, Annie Pearl Varner, and Rhonda Spence; as well as many other nieces, nephews, family, and friends.
