Doris Annie Mae Williams, born February 5, 1941, in Coosa County, Alabama, to Oscar and Dollie Bell Williams, passed away peacefully at her home on January 18, 2025. Doris leaves behind a legacy of love and cherished memories.
She professed her faith at an early age at Mount Sinai Church in Coosa County and later attended Lighthouse Fellowship Church in Thorsby, Alabama.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Lavester Williams; parents, Oscar and Dollie Bell Williams; and brothers, Oscar Jr. Williams and James Freddy Williams.
Throughout her life, Doris was a homemaker who enjoyed spending time with family, fishing, and dancing.
She is survived by her sister, Mary L. Dennison of New York, New York: daughters, Doris Jean Williams and Monica Williams Threatt (David Threatt); sons, Richard Jr. Williams (Gwen Williams) and Oscar Lee Williams; brothers- in-law, Ocie Williams and Albert (Billy) Williams, all of Clanton, Alabama. She will be deeply missed by her grandchildren: Demita Williams, Candace Good, Timothy Good, Anthony Atchison, Clarissa Williams (Christopher Williams), Nelson Williams (Amanda Guthas Williams), Shaphanie Williams, David M. Threatt, Edward T. Williams, Camesio Williams, and Maurice Williams, who preceded her in death. She leaves behind 15 great-grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews. Doris will be deeply missed by all who knew her, especially her dear friend of over 50 years, the late Mary Lawson. The loss of Doris leaves a void in our hearts, but her joy and kindness will forever be remembered.
