Donald Lucas Sr. was born on January 13, 1948 to the late Alberta Edwards Lewis. He affectionately became known as "Luke" and "Devil" to those that loved him.
Don was a dedicated and loyal employee of Peoples Finance and Rucker's Furniture. He spent many years with both companies until he retired.
In his spare time, Don loved to play dominoes and spend time with family. He had a kind heart, and was a man of few words.
He married Annie Mae Smith Lucas and to this union eight children were born. He loved his family.
He departed this life peacefully at his home in Helena, Alabama on Sunday October 22, 2023. He is preceded in death by his lovely wife, Annie Mae Smith Lucas; his mother, Alberta Edwards Lewis; his brother, Elgin Edwards; and his two sisters, Nancy Sanders, and Dorothy Edwards; He leave to cherish his memories six sons, Donald (Toni) Lucas Smith Jr. of Helena, Alabama, Steve and Terry Smith of Clanton, Alabama, Kevin Smith of Charlotte, North Carolina, Ricky (Shanita) Smith of Birmingham, Alabama, Reco (Shauntae) Smith of Prattville, Alabama; two daughters, Tracey Darlene Smith of Prattville and Krystal Renee Smith of Clanton Alabama; two brothers, Aaron and Harry Lewis both of Prattville, Alabama; one sister, Browzell Reese of Decatur, Alabama; one aunt, Hattie Mae DeRamus of Prattville, Alabama; one sister-in-law, Tallie (Ellis) Bishop of Madison, Alabama; two brothers-in-law, Charlie (Amogene) Smith of Clanton, Alabama and Michael (Joann) Rowe of Prattville, Alabama and a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, and other relatives and friends.
