Clifford James Holyfield was born to Alma Holyfield and the late John Wesley Holyfield on June 12, 1951.
One brother, Luther “Luke” Holyfield, preceded him in death.
He joined the Lily Hill Church at an early age.
He attended Chilton Training School and Marburg High School.
He later joined the Job Corp. where he mastered in mechanics and became a jack-of-all-trades. There was nothing he couldn’t do. He was always helping someone do something, until his health failed.
He leaves to cherish his memories: a strong, loving, sweet 98-year-old mother, Mrs. Alma Holyfield of Verbena, Alabama; one daughter, Tara Jones of Lamar, South Carolina; four brothers, Bob (Jennifer) Murphy of Verbena, Alabama, John Wesley (Minerva) Holyfield, Jr., of Dayton, Ohio, and Ernest (Roberta) Holyfield of Winston Salem, North Carolina; four sisters, Mary (Ben) Frazier of Deatsville, Alabama, Claudia Gay of Verbena, Alabama, Roxie Swinton of Tuskegee, Alabama, and Cassandra O’Neal of Dayton, Ohio; one uncle; two nephews; five nieces; along with a host of great-nephews, great-nieces, great-great-nephews and nieces, many cousins and friends; and two special friends, Evaun Sanders and Willie Griffin.
