On Sunday, November 23, 2025, Cleo Rush ascended to eternal peace with the Lord, and his son Derwin Leo Rush, just recently passed on September 21, 2025, are now together in eternal rest, basking in the divine love of the Lord, where my father and brother serenely rest.
Cleo Rush was born in Clanton, Alabama on September 28, 1938, to Mabel Rush and Roger Bryant. Cleo moved to New York City where he began his career with the New York City Transit Authority, with 36 years of service, and he retired in 1989.
Cleo was married to his former wife Dorothy Rush, and they had two children, Derwin Rush and Francetta Rush.
He leaves to cherish his memories, former wife Dorothy Rush and his daughter Francetta Rush, daughter-in-law Victoria Rush New York City. His grandsons Brandon Rush Connecticut, Vaughn Rush San Diego and Justin Rush Atlanta Georgia, and a host of nieces, great nieces, nephews, great nephews, cousins, a close and dear friend Edith Cunningham and other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his beloved parents Mr. Roger Bryant and Mrs. Mabel Anderson and his son Mr. Derwin Rush.
Though our hearts are heavy, we find peace in knowing that Mr. Cleo Rush has entered into eternal rest with the Lord, reunited with his beloved family who went before him, all of whom welcomed him into eternal rest.
"To be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord."- 2 Corinthians 5:8
