Clemmie Mae Williams Nix, affectionately known as Deeta, was born in Maplesville, Alabama on April 2, 1938 to the late Clemon and Carrie Davis Williams.
She was educated in the Chilton County public school system. On April 8, 1955, Clemmie married the love of her life, Earl Lee Nix.
She moved to the Campbell Community and joined Pleasant Hill Baptist Church where she served as choir musician, Sunday school teacher, and Young Women's Association teacher. Clemmie's life is revealed through John 13:35 "Your love for one another will prove to the world that you are my disciples."
Clemmie spent her life praising God and serving people. Clemmie was employed as a seamstress by Jemison Sports Wear of Jemison, Alabama for several years.
In 2012, after 57 years of marriage, the love of her life Earl Lee Nix passed away.
In 2023 Clemmie's health began to diminish which required her to be admitted to Diversicare of Riverchase of Birmingham, Alabama where she spent her final days of life.
Clemmie was preceded in death by her husband Earl Lee Nix, parents Clemon and Carrie Davis Williams, brothers Raymond Williams (Willie Mae), Earl Williams (Valeria), Willie Clyde Williams (Barbara), Franklin Delano Williams (Hattie), Nelson Williams (Mable). Clemmie is survived by special nieces, Myra Jill Wiliams and Nyvette Stokes, of Maplesville, Alabama; and many other nieces and nephews. brothers-in- law, Clarence Nix (Nellie) of Emporia, Virginia; Cecil Edward Nix (Evarn) of Campbell Community, Alabama; Bennie Nix (Brenda) of Campbell Community, Alabama; Willie Nix of Lewisville, Georgia, Leroy Nix of Montgomery, Alabama; sisters-in-law Gertie Nix of Campbell Community, Alabama; Joyce Nix of Campbell Community, Alabama; Mable Williams of Cleveland, Ohio.
