Chester Wayne Matthews was born on January 25, 1951, to Henry Matthews and Warrene Wilson in Clanton, Alabama.
He joined the Lutheran Church at an early age. He attended Chilton County Training School. His family moved to Jamaica, New York, when he was approximately 16 years of age and he continued his education and graduated from high school.
He met Norma Eugenie Fallott and married in March 1978. They later divorced but remained best of friends.
He was preceding in death by his mother, Warrene Matthews; father, Henry Matthews; son, Michael Matthews; and sister, Willodean Matthews Johnson.
He leaves to mourn: his daughters, Yakima Mandoza and Cassandra Cotto; son, Charles A. Matthews; brother, Charles Matthews; grandson, Kaius; dedicated cousins, the Johnson Family; and a host of relatives and friends.
