Bonnie (McCary) Nix

Bonnie Louise McCary Nix was born on March 25, 1956, to the late Walter Sr. and the late Ethrean Simon in Jemison, Alabama. She attended school in Jemison, Alabama.

She confessed her life to Christ at an early age at Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church in Jemison, Alabama. Then she met the love of her life, Roman Cecil Nix, Jr., and the two joined hands in holy matrimony.

She was the proud mother of three children, Nakia Nix, Lashaundra (Travis Gardner), and Roman Jerell Nix (Tekeisha Cooper).

She loved the Lord and cherished her family. She enjoyed traveling, cooking, and spending time with her grandkids, “spoiling them.” Her husband and family gave her so much joy and happiness.

God called her home on Tuesday, December 12, 2023.

She was preceded in death by her parents, four brothers, and two sisters.

She leaves to cherish: her lifelong husband of 51 years; children, Nakia, Lashaundra, and Roman; sisters, Cora Nix (Donald) of Thorsby, Alabama, Joan Daniels of Calera, Alabama, Estella McCary of New York, Jettie Pearl McCary of Montevallo, Carolyn McCary of Montgomery, Emma (Andee) Howard of Alabaster, Alabama; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
