Bettye Jean (Butler) Law was born October 27, 1953, in Marbury, AL and passed away peacefully in the loving arms of her husband, Joseph, and also surrounded by love ones on October 7, 2024.
Bettye is the daughter of the late Luzelle Butler, Jr. and Ollie Mae (Posey) Butler both from Marbury, Alabama.
Bettye confessed Christ at an early age and joined the Old Kingston Missionary Baptist Church.
She later transferred her membership to Lilly Hill Missionary Baptist Church, where she served faithfully in all auxiliaries she was affiliated with.
Shortly after graduating from Billingsley High School in 1972, Bettye married her lifelong partner, Joseph Law.
She worked for the State of Louisiana during her early years and later in the Healthcare field.
Bettye enjoyed cooking, dancing, shopping, traveling, sewing, arts & crafts and most of all, she loved to dress up and look her very best!
Bettye’s biggest love was spending time with her family and caring for them, especially organizing family functions and Sunday dinners. She was always the life of the party with her sense of humor.
She is preceded in death by her brother, Henry James Butler, and sister, Patricia Butler.
Bettye leaves to cherish her memories: husband, Joseph Law of 50 years. Two daughters, Vernessa Emerson (James) of Marbury, Alabama; Tammy Goodson (Jeff) of Deatsville, Alabama. Four grandsons: Marcello Law, Franklin Emerson, Daylen Emerson, and Braxton Goodson. One granddaughter, Alaya Goodson.
