Ashley Posey

MS. ASHLEY RENEE POSEY was born on November 6, 1987, to the late Simmie Lee Posey, Jr., and late Helen J. Posey of Verbena, AL.

At an early age, she accepted Christ into her life and attended Lily Hill Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Reverend Mitchell Brown. She currently attended New Hope Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Reverend Marcus Hunter.

Ashley graduated from Verbena High School with honors and continued her education at Alabama State University in Montgomery, AL, where she obtained a Master’s Degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling.

Ashley was called home on May 14, 2025, at her home in Montgomery, AL.

Ashley was preceded in death by her father, Simmie Lee Posey, Jr.; mother, Helen J. Posey; grandmother, Susie B. Duncan; and sister, Pamela Denise Posey.

Ashley leaves to cherish the memories of her life: her loving daughter, Marcaria J. Montgomery; Marcaria’s father, Marco Montgomery of Montgomery, AL; nieces and nephews, William, India, and Issac Price of Montgomery, AL; four brothers, Simmie Lee Elmore (Stacie Elmore) of Belmond, IA, Latrail Jackson (Crystal Jackson) of Clanton, AL, Dexter Posey (Christy Foley) of Verbena, AL, and Tyrone Graham of Montgomery, AL; aunts, Zettie Posey Jenkins and Lenora Daniels; uncles, Thomas Walker, William Deramus, and James Posey; great-aunt, Johnnie Mae Brown; special cousins, Delena Brown Thomas (Lou), Jazmyne and Yazmyne Brown, and Adrienna Williams; very special friend and Marcaria’s godmother, Marcia Robinson; Marcaria’s grandparents, Horace and Sylvia Montgomery; Marcaria’s aunt, Anissa Montgomery; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and other relatives and friends.
