Annie Jean Goodwin was born on March 27, 1944, to the late Jessie and Eugenia Perry.
She grew up in Plantersville, Alabama, a town she loved and never left. She passed away at home on November 15, 2021, surrounded by her family and loved ones at the age of 77.
Annie Jean confessed Christ at an early age at Elyton Missionary Baptist Church of Plantersville, Alabama. She later joined Oak Grove Baptist Church and remained a faithful member until death. She enjoyed going to church, walking, dieting, cleaning, serving, shopping, cooking for others, watching her favorite soap operas, and talking on the phone to friends and family.
Annie Jean was preceded in death by her parents, Jessie and Eugenia Perry; her husband of forty-three years, Joseph Goodwin; one sister (her best friend), Louise McGee; and one brother, Vangilee Perry.
She is survived by: four children, Charles (Shirley) Goodwin, Allen (Pamela) Goodwin, Darrell Goodwin, and Erika (Bertram) Crum, all of Plantersville, Alabama; seven siblings, Jessie (Mary) Perry, Jr., of Autauga, Alabama, Helen Perry of Mobile, Alabama, Donald (Ruthie) Perry of Selma, Alabama, Bernadine (Jerry) McCary of Plantersville, Alabama, Clifford (Shunda) Perry of Selma, Alabama, Eugene (Sophia) Perry of Lithonia, Georgia, and Kimberly (Charlie) Moppins of Valley Grande, Alabama; eleven grandchildren, Katrina Caver, Tiffany Goodwin, Darrell Goodwin, Allen Goodwin, Darius Goodwin, Tamia Williams, Alexis Goodwin, Angelina Moore, Aiden Moore, Avery Moore, and Adrian Moore; seven great-grandchildren, Aaliyah Goodwin, Aubrey Reeves, Ayden Goodwin, Amouri Goodwin, Haven Goodwin, Paisley Woods, and Emory Childs; two special friends, Linda Tillis and Timothy Caver of Plantersville, Alabama; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
