Alonza Tinsley, Jr., was born on October 29, 1959, in Clanton, Alabama. He was one of five children born to the late Alonza Ezel Tinsley and Edith Louise Tinsley.
He was baptized at a young age at Fountain Chapel AME Church, where he attended until his health began to
decline.
As a young man, Alonza began working at Keystone in Clanton, Alabama, until the company closed. He later began working at Glidewell Specialties Foundry, where he worked for many years.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Alonza Ezel
Tinsley and Edith Louise Tinsley, and stepmother,
Gladys Mae Tinsley.
He is survived by: his wife, Linda Faye (Floyd) Tinsley of Clanton, Alabama; three children, Martinus Tinsley of
Clanton, Alabama, Jeremy Tinsley of Columbus, Ohio,
and one adopted daughter, Laricca Shanta Tinsley,
of Clanton, Alabama; four siblings, Delores Tinsley
of Clanton, Alabama, Debra (Leonard) Worthey of
Maplesville, Alabama, Gwendolyn (Paul) Tolbert of
Flint, Michigan, and Darryl Tinsley, and Archie Tinsley,
both of Clanton, Alabama; two stepsisters, Angela Price
and Cathy (Glenn) Campbell, both of Clanton, Alabama;
five grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, and
other relatives and friends.
Alonza’s memories will forever live on in the hearts of those who loved him. He will be remembered for his fun- loving spirit and willingness to help others. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. He was loved by many and will be truly missed.
