In loving memory of our dear sister, Jamille Hicks, whose melody came to an end on December 30, 2024.
Jamille Hicks was born on February 19, 1976. She was the daughter of Elmore and Ludean Hicks, born third of four children. Jamille is survived by her beloved brother, Mark Hicks, and sister, Jana Hicks and cousin Sherri Kennebrew.
Jamille was born and raised in Jemison, Alabama. She received her education from Isabella High School and obtained her bachelor's degree from the University of Alabama and her master's degree from Alabama State University. She was passionate about music and, as a member of Shiloh Baptist Church in Jemison, Alabama, she sang in the choir. While at the University of Alabama, she served as the Minister of Music. She later relocated to Texas and joined the Shiloh Baptist Church in Plano, Texas, where she became a member of the church as well as the choir.
Jamille was a die-hard Crimson Tide fan and would frequently and jokingly say "Roll Tide!" She worked as a social worker for the state of Alabama and later held various positions in healthcare management in the state of Texas. She was someone that people were drawn to no matter where she went; she was the life of the party. She cherished the valuable friendships that she made during her lifetime. Jamille had a song in her heart that resonated with everyone she met. Her love for music and often humming to her favorite tunes filled our lives with harmony and joy. Jamille's legacy will forever play on in our memory and timeless symphony of love and laughter.
Jamille was preceded in death by her mother, Ludean Hicks; father, Elmore Hicks; brother, Mario Hicks; grandfather, S. J. McCary; grandmother, Alice McCary; grandmother, Mary Lee Kennebrew; and grandfather, Johnny Kennebrew; She cherishes and a host of other nieces, nephews, and extended loved ones. She leaves behind a legacy of love and has now joined them in peace and harmony.
